Amitek Smart Duo Shield Damproof Primer is a single-component, water-based pigmented primer specifically designed to seal porosity in concrete and masonry surfaces.
It provides excellent penetration on concrete and strong bonding to both absorbent and non-absorbent substrates listed in the TDS. Used as the foundation for compatible waterproofing coatings, it supports a uniform finish and reliable system performance.
Recommended for latex, acrylic polymer and elastomeric coatings, it can also serve as an intercoat adhesion layer on painted surfaces.

Application guidelines
Prepare. Prime. Allow to dry.

Prepare new concrete
Remove dust and loose particles by washing or blowing air. Ensure the surface is free from loose material before priming.
Prepare existing surfaces
Remove loosely adhered coatings and contaminants such as algae and fungus. Repair existing cracks using a suitable paintable acrylic sealant; confirm the repair product with Amitek.
Dilute and apply
Dilute with tap water up to 50% by volume until application consistency is reached. Apply uniformly using a brush or roller.
Allow drying and recoating
The technical table lists 30 minutes to surface dry and 24 hours to hard dry at 25°C, with a 4–6 hour recoating period. Follow the full TDS and confirm project-specific timing with Amitek.
Application conditions: Avoid application below 5°C or above 35°C. Avoid application in foggy conditions.

Coverage & timing: The TDS technical table and consumption section state 45–50 sq ft/kg at 2 mil thickness; its application instructions state 50–55 sq ft/kg/coat, depending on porosity. Those instructions also mention 2–4 hours drying and, if possible, a 24-hour wait before the next application. Practical coverage varies with surface conditions. Confirm the applicable spread rate and coating interval with Amitek for your project.

Storage & shelf life
12 months in the original unopened package, stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Handling & safety
Use chemical-resistant gloves and goggles, and wear safety shoes. Wash skin contact with soap and water; do not use solvent on skin. Remove contaminated clothing. In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water and consult a physician if irritation persists. Refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet for full guidance.
