Amitek Smart Duo Shield Damproof is a liquid-applied elastomeric coating made with resilient acrylic binders and durable polyester fibres. On curing, it forms a flexible, seamless membrane for long-term waterproofing protection.
Its fibre-reinforced structure supports mechanical durability, while elastomeric flexibility helps bridge cracks. Strong adhesion to masonry and concrete makes it suitable for roofs, terraces, parapets, sunshades and exterior vertical walls.
The bright white finish also provides solar reflectance, helping reduce substrate temperature. A single-component, ready-to-use formulation simplifies site application and maintenance.

Surface preparation
Prepare well for lasting protection.
Allow new masonry to cure
Allow new masonry surfaces to cure fully. The TDS recommends 28 days before application.
Clean thoroughly
Remove loose paint, dust and grease. Completely remove existing bitumen coatings. Use intensive wire brushing or a high-speed water jet for thorough cleaning.
Check and repair
Check substrate soundness with a small hammer. Treat cracks at corner joints, channels and parapets. Repair larger cracks, damaged portions and hollow areas with polymer-modified cement mortar.
Prime and coat
Apply the self-priming coat followed by the appropriate horizontal or vertical coating sequence below. Maintain the specified 4–6 hour recoating intervals.

Horizontal surfaces
- Self-prime: Apply Smart Duo Shield Damproof by brush, diluted with 33% water as specified in the TDS.
- First waterproofing coat: Apply by brush or roller. No dilution is specified.
- Second waterproofing coat: Apply by brush or roller. No dilution is specified.
- Recoating: Allow 4–6 hours between stages, as listed in the TDS.
Vertical surfaces
- Self-prime: Apply Smart Duo Shield Damproof by brush, diluted with 33% water.
- Waterproofing coat: Apply Smart Duo Shield Damproof by brush or roller. No dilution is specified.
- Exterior topcoat: A good-quality exterior paint may be applied over it, using brush or roller.
- Recoating: The TDS lists 4–6 hours between stages.
Exterior-paint dilution: The Damproof TDS lists 40% water for the vertical exterior-paint step. Confirm compatibility and follow the selected exterior paint manufacturer’s dilution instructions before application.

Storage & shelf life
3 years in the original sealed container, stored away from direct sunlight and high heat. Keep tightly closed and upright in a cool, dry place.
Care & precautions
Maintain the membrane’s protection.
Application & upkeep
Avoid application during rainy weather or extreme temperatures. Prevent damage that could puncture the membrane.
Clean periodically and wash away algal or fungal growth every six months, as recommended in the TDS.
Safe handling
Keep away from children and food. Wear eye protection; rinse eye contact with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Wash skin with soap and water. If swallowed, seek immediate medical attention.
Use a suitable mask during sanding or preparation. Do not dispose of leftover coating in drains or water bodies. Refer to the MSDS for complete guidance.
